INFO
Welcome one and all to my Christian Karaoke web site, I suspect that some of you have not used nor even possibly heard of karaoke on the PC so first off i'll try to explain.
A karaoke file (.kar) is basically a midi file with words written into it. However, although many of the midi sequencers have the facility to edit words etc, they will not display them in a way that you could sing along. This is where PC karaoke software is needed. There are quite a few variations around so you will have to decide just what system or setup you feel most comfortable with.
The easiest one i've come across is called "WINKARAOKE"(wink), and the best part is that "IT'S FREEWARE" and you can find a link on my main page. There is also a "KARAOKE CREATOR" at the same site which is just as easy to use.
Apart from the mentioned software you need to have a soundcard installed in your PC, the sound quality will always be different for each type of card, but if you have a music keyboard with midi in / out ports you can hook it up to the PC and if the keyboard is up to it, reproduce sound quality like that of a real orchestra, If not just don't forget to plug in the speakers, and if you want to beef up the sound why not connect it into your home stereo system or TV
(line out on the soundcard or earphone socket).
The next step is to make sure that all participants can see the monitor screen, All you've got left to do now is have fun.....
Here i hope you will find all your favourite praise and worship songs in a format that can be shared with others, even when they don't know the song. In my own house we have a great time singing and praising with these files and often it is real time of blessing. On the main page you can find the links to various (.kar) files and also where to get hold of your own personal PC karaoke software. At the start most of the files were sequenced by other's but there are now quite a few that i've had an attempt at mainly because the majority of Christian sequencers tend to lean heavily towards Christian pop/rap etc, whereas my personal prefernce is mostly the older chorus type praise from the 80s, Also 99% the karaoke files you find here have been edited by myself because as of yet i have not found even one site dedicated to Christian karaoke unless it's a money spinner set up commercially, so if you find any other free sites/files please let me know so that i can add more to this site for your pleasure, So as already said, Enjoy!
